Anesthesia and facility fee included. See https://doctortruesdale.com/deep-plane-facelift-cost. A comprehensive, single-session plan that combines deep plane facelift, neck lift, blepharoplasty, fat transfer, brow lift, and skin resurfacing for patients whose facial aging spans multiple zones. Designed to produce a unified, harmonious result rather than the fragmented look that results from staged procedures performed years apart. Typical timeline: - Procedure day: 5–8 hours under MAC (Monitored Anesthesia Care) with IV sedation — not general anesthesia — at True Surgical Center (AAAHC-accredited). - Overnight nurse stays with the patient on the day of surgery. Office follow-ups: Day 1 office visit and dressing removal; Day 2 hemostatic net suture removal with our physician assistant; Day 3 drain removal with our physician assistant (women, if drains were placed); Day 5 drain removal with our physician assistant (men, if drains were placed, unless Dr. Truesdale specifies otherwise); Day 7 suture removal with Dr. Truesdale. - Weeks 2–8: Bruising and major swelling resolve. Light cardio at Day 14; strenuous exercise around 3 weeks, once your surgeon clears you. - Months 6–12: Full healing. Long-term result typically holds 10–15 years. - Out-of-town patients: Arrive the day before surgery. If you'd like to meet Dr. Truesdale before surgery, you can come a few days early — or sometimes see him the day before; coordinate with your patient care coordinator. Plan to arrive at least a day before surgery and to be here for 7 to 10 days; we'll confirm the right length of stay for your surgery. Please stay within 20 minutes of our office, even in heavy traffic: one of our preferred hotels, or Luxe Serenity Aftercare, which we can help you book. Your hotel and travel arrangements, and their costs, are your responsibility. You'll come back to the office on Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3: our physician assistant removes your hemostatic net on Day 2 and your drains on Day 3 (for men, drains usually come out on Day 5); Dr. Truesdale removes your sutures on Day 7. ### Deep Plane Facelift & Neck Lift Dr. Truesdale performs the deep plane facelift exclusively — releasing the retaining ligaments and repositioning the entire facial foundation (muscle, fat, deeper tissue) as one unit, with the skin lying passively on top. Typically holds 10–15 years. Dr. Truesdale teaches this technique to other surgeons: he is faculty and a live surgeon at the NYC Facelift & Rhinoplasty Master Course™, personally performing live deep plane facelift and neck lift surgery to demonstrate the technique, and a repeat podium presenter at AAFPRS national conferences on facelift and neck lift technique (deep necklifting, facelift and revision rejuvenation strategies, facelifting scar management). See https://doctortruesdale.com/press. Typical timeline: - Procedure day: 3–5 hours under IV sedation with local anesthesia (not general). - Office follow-ups as with Masterpiece — Day 1 office visit and dressing removal; Day 2 hemostatic net suture removal with our physician assistant; Day 3 drain removal with our physician assistant (women, if drains were placed); Day 5 drain removal with our physician assistant (men, if drains were placed, unless Dr. Truesdale specifies otherwise); Day 7 suture removal with Dr. Truesdale. Overnight nurse standard. - Weeks 2–6: Bruising fades; jawline emerges. - Months 6–12: Final contour. Long-term result. ### The Truesdale Facelift Technique (signature technique — https://doctortruesdale.com/truesdale-facelift-technique) Dr. Truesdale's signature face and neck lift is an extended deep plane, composite-flap operation that treats the neck, lower face, and midface together. It is the surgical foundation of The Masterpiece Surgery™. Key elements, in operative order: 1. Neck first, through a 2–2.5 cm submental incision: fat excised under direct vision; the platysma muscles directly mobilized, with redundant platysma excised and contoured; bulky anterior digastric muscles trimmed and contoured; a descended submandibular gland conservatively reduced; platysma plicated at the midline with an oversewing technique; a back-cut at the level of the hyoid with a dedicated imbricating suture that elevates the hyoid and sharpens the cervicomental angle. Where anatomy allows, a bridge of undissected skin is left between the lateral neck and the submentum. 2. Incisions hidden in the temporal tuft (trichophytic, hair-follicle-preserving) and along the inside edge of the tragal cartilage, deliberately irregularized; the ear and tragus are never distorted. 3. Skin undermined only lightly to the SMAS. The SMAS is entered high on the zygoma and farther lateral than a traditional deep plane entry, over the fixed SMAS overlying the parotid — leaving a long undissected skin flap and a hearty SMAS for anchoring. The flap is raised with cautery rather than a scalpel, directly off the orbicularis oculi and the zygomaticus major and minor, keeping it thick and reducing bruising. 4. Extended release forward to the nasolabial fold and past the buccal fat pad, with the malar fat pad kept attached to the skin and SMAS (composite flap); dissection continued down to the platysma; the zygomatic cutaneous, masseteric cutaneous, and mandibular retaining ligaments all released; the sub-SMAS planes of the face and neck connected; facial artery and vein identified; facial nerve branches protected. 5. Release along the sternocleidomastoid, with the sternocleidomastoid–SMAS attachment fully released, enabling the Deep Mastoid Crevasse Technique (developed by Dr. Truesdale): platysma mobilized and anchored superiorly, medially, and deeply with two suture techniques, plus a second modified suture recruiting more platysma — defining the angle of the mandible, flattening the cervicomental angle, and separating the facial and neck planes. 6. Vertical midface vector fixed with permanent sutures for maximal effacement of the nasolabial fold and jowl; a running reinforcing suture along the SMAS distributes force, recruits lateral SMAS, reinforces the closure of the SMAS in both the face and the neck, and tightens the circumference of the face and of the neck. Vector selection and the extent of the release are artistic decisions, individualized to each patient's facial shape, balance, and contour. 7. Artistic sculpting of the neck and fat structures: conservative contouring of the parotid and of fat at the angle of the mandible and subgonial region for optimal facial shape and contour; excess skin excised along the trichophytic incision for tension-free closure; skin closed with 6-0 microsutures. Meticulous hemostasis is maintained throughout the entire case, a major contributor to faster recovery. 8. Volume loss addressed with facial fat transfer, and complementary procedures added as needed, to complete The Masterpiece Surgery™. Results typically hold 10–15 years. Dr. Truesdale teaches this technique as faculty and live surgeon at the NYC Facelift & Rhinoplasty Master Course™ and in podium presentations at AAFPRS and Vegas Cosmetic Surgery. ### Rhinoplasty (Primary and Revision) Open or closed approach depending on anatomy. Dr. Truesdale accepts complex revision cases including patients told their nose is "not fixable" elsewhere. The Truesdale Rhinoplasty Approach (https://doctortruesdale.com/truesdale-rhinoplasty-approach): 1. Analysis first: formal facial analysis at consultation — skin thickness, cartilage framework, septal position, and full facial proportion — translated into digital imaging so the patient sees the planned result before surgery. Dr. Truesdale does not operate if a natural result cannot be achieved. 2. Open or closed chosen by anatomy: closed (endonasal, no external scar) when hump, modest tip, or straightening changes can be made precisely through internal incisions; open (small columellar incision) when the tip or framework needs direct visualization for grafting or reconstruction, including most revisions. 3. Structure over reduction: the nasal framework is reshaped and reinforced with the patient's own cartilage rather than simply reduced, so the result holds its shape and breathes for life; septal deviation and internal valve narrowing are addressed in the same operation. 4. Identity preserved: one of the most diverse rhinoplasty practices in the world; ethnic rhinoplasty refines the nose without erasing it, with restraint as the discipline. 5. Revision: planned as custom reconstruction — restore support first, refine second; almost always open; final tip refinement over 12–18 months. Every incision, cartilage shaping step, and graft is placed personally by Dr. Truesdale at True Surgical Center. He teaches at the NYC Facelift & Rhinoplasty Master Course™. Typical timeline: - Procedure day: 2–4 hours. - Day 3: Body shower OK (cast must stay dry). - Day 5: Plan on about a week. Dr. Truesdale removes your cast and sutures on Day 5, and you are cleared to fly once the cast is off. A Day 5 that falls on a weekend moves to Monday. - Weeks 1–3: No glasses on the nasal bridge for at least 4 weeks. No heavy activity for 3 weeks. - Weeks 3–6: Avoid sun for 6 weeks. SPF 50 daily. - Up to 18 months: Complete healing. Final tip refinement and full nose shape visible. ### Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) - **Upper Blepharoplasty:** 1–2 hours under local + light sedation. Day 5 suture removal with Dr. Truesdale. Eye makeup from Day 10, once the skin is completely closed. Final scar maturation 3–12 months. - **Lower Blepharoplasty:** 1–2 hours. Transconjunctival approach (no external incision) for most cases. Day 5 suture removal with Dr. Truesdale. Bruising 10–14 days. ### Brow Lift 1–3 hours. Endoscopic approach uses small hidden incisions. Staples and sutures removed at the Day 7 visit. Final brow position visible at 3–6 months. ### Lip Lift 30–60 minutes in office under local anesthesia. Incision hidden in the columellar-lip junction. Day 5 suture removal with Dr. Truesdale. Lip-shape change is permanent. ### Chin Augmentation 45–60 minutes. Implant placed through a small hidden incision either inside the mouth or under the chin. Regular diet as tolerated; salt-water rinse after meals for intraoral incisions. Sutures removed at the Day 7 visit. Final result 3–6 months. Permanent. ### Buccal Fat Removal 30–45 minutes in office under local anesthesia. Tiny intra-oral incision; no external scar. Patient selection is critical — over-resection ages the face prematurely. Final lower-cheek refinement visible at Months 1–3. ### Otoplasty (Ear Surgery) 1.5–2.5 hours. Local anesthesia for adults; general for children. Soft headband worn 24/7 for 1–2 weeks, then nights only. Non-dissolvable sutures out at Day 7; dissolvable sutures need no removal. ### Alarplasty (Nostril Reduction) 30–45 minutes in office under local anesthesia. Tiny incisions hidden in the alar–facial junction. Sutures out at the Day 5 visit. ### Facial Fat Transfer 1–2 hours. Fat harvested from inner/outer thighs or stomach via gentle liposuction. ~60–70% of grafted fat establishes permanent blood supply. Stable at Month 6+. Permanent. ### Neck Liposuction 1–1.5 hours. Small hidden incisions under chin and behind ears. Compression garment 1–2 weeks. Final neckline visible at Months 3–6. ### Scar Revision & Reconstruction 30 minutes – 2 hours depending on technique (Z-plasty, W-plasty, excision, laser). Sutures removed on the area's standard day — Day 5 for the lip, Day 7 for the face. Mature scar significantly less visible at 6–12 months. ### Hairline Lowering, Skin Pinch (lower-eyelid skin pinch), and other boutique procedures Performed by Dr. Truesdale on appropriate candidates. Detailed instructions are provided at consultation. ## Non-surgical / MedSpa treatments ### Botox & Neurotoxins Available: Botox (3–4 months), Dysport (3–4 months), Xeomin (4–5 months), Daxxify (6–9 months). 10–20 minute appointments. Effects begin Days 3–7, peak at Day 14. No general anesthesia. Topical numbing optional. ### Dermal Fillers Hyaluronic acid filler durations: 6–12 months in mobile areas, 12–18 months in stable areas. Biostimulators (e.g., Sculptra, Radiesse) last longer. Risks include — but are not limited to — bruising, asymmetry, vascular occlusion (rare but emergent — can cause skin necrosis or, very rarely, blindness if injected near specific facial vessels). Only inject with a board-certified provider familiar with facial anatomy. ### CO2 Laser Resurfacing 1–2 hour session under local anesthesia and oral sedation. Aquaphor on the treated skin. Days 1–10: 4× daily vinegar–water rinse, transition to Cetaphil at Day 10. Pink phase 4–8 weeks. Final tightening, texture, and pigment correction 3–6 months. ### UltraClear Laser Cold-fiber laser. 30–60 minute session. Mild redness and fine peeling 3–7 days. Series of 2–3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. Final tone and texture improvements over 1–3 months after final session. ### Morpheus8 RF Microneedling 30–60 minutes with topical numbing. Pinpoint marks and mild redness 24–72 hours. Series of 3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks. Final result over 3–6 months. Safe across all Fitzpatrick skin types. ### IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) For pigmented and vascular irregularities, sun damage, redness. Typically a series of 3–5 sessions. ### Chemical Peels (Light, Medium, Deep — including VI Peel and Cool Peel) Downtime depends on depth: light peels (1–2 days), medium (5–10 days), deeper (10–14+ days). VI Peel offered for melasma and PIH on darker skin tones. ### Dermaplaning Same-day exfoliation. Results immediate. Maintenance every 3–4 weeks. ### FaceTite / AccuTite Radiofrequency-assisted skin and tissue tightening for patients between non-surgical and surgical candidates. ### Medical Weight Loss Semaglutide / Tirzepatide (GLP-1 receptor agonists) under physician supervision. Eligibility, dosing, and side-effect monitoring per the practice's weight-loss program. ### Artisa Skincare Physician-formulated, all-skintone clinical-grade skincare line founded by Dr. Truesdale. Validated by 12-week clinical study: 94% firmer skin at 60 days, 89% fine line reduction at 90 days, 97% of melanin-rich participants saw zero PIH increase, 97% would recommend. ## Consultation process ### In-person new patients 1. Consultation fee: $750 virtual, fully credited toward the procedure. Hotel partnerships in close proximity to the practice are available; the team can help with booking, transportation, and aftercare support including private nursing, lymphatic therapy, and a quiet companion if family cannot travel. Face lift, neck lift and Masterpiece patients stay within 20 minutes of the office (a preferred hotel or Luxe Serenity Aftercare) and plan to arrive at least a day before surgery and stay 7 to 10 days. Hotel and travel arrangements and their costs are the patient's responsibility; no package includes a hotel stay. ## Pricing (published starting price — https://doctortruesdale.com/deep-plane-facelift-cost) - As of September 2026, a deep plane face and neck lift performed by Dr. Truesdale **starts at $65,000**. This includes the surgeon's fee, anesthesia (board-certified anesthesiologist), and the facility fee at True Surgical Center (AAAHC-accredited, owned by Dr. Truesdale). - That is the price of the face and neck lift alone. Most patients address more than the lower face and neck in the same operation (blepharoplasty, brow lift, fat transfer, lip lift, skin resurfacing), so the majority of surgical plans are higher and are quoted individually after consultation. Comprehensive plans (The Masterpiece Surgery — the face and neck lift plus blepharoplasty, brow lift, fat transfer, and/or skin resurfacing) run **$78,000 to $129,000+**. - Other price factors: neck lift alone (a smaller operation), revision of a previous facelift (more complex), individual anatomy, and surgeon (Dr. Sajjadi offers the same standard of care at a more accessible price point). - Consultation: $750 with Dr. Truesdale / $150 with Dr. Sajjadi, credited in full toward surgery. Written quotes are valid for 60 days. Prices are reviewed periodically. - Context: published Beverly Hills deep plane facelift prices range from roughly $35,000 to well over $100,000; many lower quotes exclude anesthesia and facility fees. Dr. Truesdale's starting price is all-in. ## Financing & insurance - Cosmetic procedures are not covered by insurance. - Functional procedures (e.g., upper blepharoplasty for vision impairment, rhinoplasty for breathing obstruction) may be partially covered. The practice assists with pre-authorization documentation. - Financing: available through third-party patient financing partners; 0% APR options for qualified applicants. Ask the practice for current options. ## Post-operative care Follow-up appointments are conducted by Dr. Truesdale and our physician assistant. Specific recovery details vary by procedure; full instructions are provided at the pre-operative appointment. General guidelines applicable to most surgical procedures: - **Sleep on your back, head elevated** — sleep on your back with your head elevated on two to three pillows, a wedge pillow, or a recliner, for the full first two weeks. Do not sleep flat — it significantly increases swelling. Move your head and shoulders as a unit, and avoid straining or bending your neck. - **Ice compresses** — apply ice compresses with a cloth barrier — never directly on skin — 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off, for the first five days after every procedure. This is when it helps most. You don't need to ice while you sleep. - **Light walking** is encouraged from day one — it promotes circulation and reduces clot risk. - **No heavy lifting, bending at the waist, or straining for three weeks.** Avoid any activity that raises blood pressure. - **Light cardio** — elliptical, spin bike, low resistance — may resume at two weeks, for every procedure. Confirm with your surgeon at your follow-up before increasing intensity. - **From two weeks after surgery, light lymphatic massage can help swelling settle.** Keep it gentle. - **Strenuous exercise once your surgeon clears you** — heavy cardio, weightlifting, bending over, yoga, and Pilates typically resume at three weeks — once your surgeon clears you at a follow-up. Three weeks is a judgment, not a date that clears itself. - **Diet — regular from day one.** No soft diet is needed after any procedure. Eat a regular diet from day one — high in protein, low in sodium, with plenty of water. - **Chin implant, buccal fat, cheek implant and alarplasty patients:** rinse your mouth after every meal with warm salt water or an antiseptic mouthwash, because your incisions are inside the mouth. - **Lip lift, rhinoplasty, buccal fat and cheek implant patients:** no straws for two weeks after surgery — the suction pulls on healing tissue. - **Face lift, deep plane face lift, neck lift, Masterpiece and brow lift patients:** if you have drains, take a body shower only and keep your face dry until your drains are out. Once they're out (Day 3; for men having a face or neck lift, usually Day 5), you may take a full shower and gently wash your hair in cool to lukewarm water. No hot water, steam, saunas or baths. - **Showering — everyone else.** Your bandages come off on Day 1, and you may shower from the day after surgery in cool to lukewarm water. No hot water, steam or saunas. - **Rhinoplasty patients:** you may shower right away, but keep your cast dry. Use cool to lukewarm water; no hot water, steam, saunas or baths. - **Antibiotic** — start your antibiotic the morning after surgery — or on the day of surgery if you're having a procedure under local anesthesia — and take it for seven days. - **Nausea medication** — take ondansetron (Zofran) 8 mg — one tablet by mouth every 8 hours as needed for nausea or vomiting. Never take more than 3 tablets (24 mg) in 24 hours. - **Acetaminophen — the daily limit.** Never take more than 4,000 mg of acetaminophen (Tylenol) in a day. Each Norco tablet already contains 325 mg — count it. For most pain, 500 mg every eight hours is enough. - **Restarting held medications** — each medication has its own restart date. Supplements, GLP-1 medications and retinoids: two weeks (Arnica and Bromelain are the exception — they start right after surgery). Artisa: the cleanser and moisturizer from your one-week visit; the Age Reversal Cream (retinol) and vitamin C serum at two weeks. NSAIDs: only once Dr. Truesdale approves, usually two weeks. Aspirin taken for a heart or other medical condition: when your cardiologist or prescribing doctor says so; preventive aspirin: two weeks. Prescription blood thinners: per your prescriber. Alcohol: three weeks. Caffeine: one week. Nicotine: three months. - **Begin silicone scar gel** — apply silicone scar gel twice daily, beginning about two days after your sutures are removed, and continue for one month. Do not use it on your eyelids. - **SPF 50, a hat, and limited sun** — use SPF 50 daily, wear a hat when you can, and limit sun exposure — for at least six weeks once you are cleared. - **No heat on your hair or scalp** for one month after surgery: a blow-dryer on the cool setting is fine, but no warm or hot settings and no hot tools. The skin around your incisions stays numb for a while, so you may not feel how hot it's getting, and heat can burn the healing area. - **Last hair coloring** — color your hair no later than one week before surgery, and do not color it again until one month after — the same for every procedure. - **Nicotine stays off** — stay off all nicotine products for three months after surgery. - **Your early post-op visits — and who you'll see.** Day 1 — an office dressing visit for face lift, neck lift, Masterpiece, brow lift and hairline lowering (your dressing comes off at this visit). Day 2 — our physician assistant removes your hemostatic net (face lift and neck lift, men and women). Day 3 — our physician assistant removes your drains (brow lift, and women having a face or neck lift). Day 5 — for men having a face or neck lift, drains usually come out on Day 5 with our physician assistant, unless Dr. Truesdale specifies otherwise. Also Day 5 — Dr. Truesdale, for rhinoplasty (cast and sutures), eyelids, lip lift and alarplasty. Day 7 — Dr. Truesdale, for face lift and facial rejuvenation (sutures), brow lift (staples and sutures), cheek and chin implants, and ear surgery or earlobe repair (if your sutures aren't dissolvable). Scar revision follows its area: Day 5 for the lip, Day 7 for the face. Buccal fat sutures dissolve on their own. - **Your one-week follow-up.** Photographs are taken in the office while you're here. - **One-month follow-up** — with your surgeon. Like all your follow-ups, it's booked for you when you schedule surgery. Just before it, we'll ask for five standard photos taken at home — frontal, both obliques, both profiles. Photos are optional: a missing photo never delays your visit. For out-of-town patients this visit is often virtual, and the photos are the visit. - **Three-month follow-up** — after eyelid surgery or a procedure under local anesthesia, this visit is with our physician assistant. As at one month, we'll ask for your five standard photos beforehand — optional, and never a reason to delay the visit. For every procedure except face lift, neck lift, Masterpiece and rhinoplasty, this is your last scheduled visit. - **Optional six-month and one-year visits** — after a face lift, neck lift or Masterpiece, our office will check in with you before six months and again before one year to see how you're doing and ask whether you'd like a visit with your surgeon. These visits are optional. After a rhinoplasty, your six-month visit with your surgeon is part of your care and is booked for you; a one-year visit is available if you'd like one, and our office will check in with you before then. Your patient care coordinator books your 1-week, 1-month and 3-month follow-ups (and, after a rhinoplasty, your six-month visit) when you schedule surgery. - Avoid alcohol and salt during recovery. ## When to contact the office immediately **Call 911 immediately:** - Difficulty breathing or swallowing, or sudden shortness of breath - Chest pain, especially when you breathe in, or a racing or irregular heartbeat - Pain, swelling, warmth or redness in one calf or thigh - Coughing up blood, or feeling faint - Bleeding that does not stop with gentle pressure **Call us now — (424) 363-4112, day or night:** - A firm lump on one side that is growing — marble, then ping-pong ball, then golf ball - One side notably harder, more swollen, or more painful than the other - Sudden vision change after eyelid surgery — call us, not 911 - Voice changes - Hives, fever or chills, especially the day after starting your antibiotic - A drain that comes out - Bleeding that soaks more than 3–4 gauzes in one sitting If you have sudden vision change after eyelid surgery and cannot reach us within fifteen minutes, go to the nearest emergency room. **Call us today:** - Fever above 101°F (38.3°C) - Drainage, or increasing pain and swelling after day 3 - Redness, warmth or pus at an incision - If any incision opens up **Plus, for your procedure:** - Eyelids: one eye more swollen, painful, or bulging than the other — call immediately - Implants: if you feel the implant move, or new tenderness and warmth over it - Rhinoplasty: a nosebleed that doesn't stop after squeezing and Afrin on cotton - Face or neck lift: pain or itching at an incision — it may need treating early - Buccal fat: if the inside-cheek incision feels like it's opening After hours you will be directed to our answering service, and Dr. Truesdale and/or Dr. Sajjadi will be contacted on your behalf.
